TRIBUNNEWS.COM - Taylor Swift mendominasi kemenangan di MTV Video Music Awards (VMA) 2023, membawa pulang total sembilan piala, pressassociation.com melaporkan.
Taylor Swift memenangkan penghargaan utama, yakni video of the year untuk lagu Anti-Hero dari album Midnights.
Ia juga memenangkan piala untuk kategori artist of the year, best pop video dan song of the year.
Di akhir acara yang digelar Selasa (12/9/2023) malam di Prudential Centre in Newark, New Jersey, AS, Taylor Swift berkata,
“Ini sulit dipercaya. Fakta bahwa ini adalah penghargaan yang dipilih oleh penggemar sangat berarti bagi saya.”
Penyanyi 33 tahun itu juga memenangkan penghargaan lainnya, yakni album of the year, best direction, cinematography, visual effects, serta the show of the summer.

Namun Taylor Swift gagal meraih piala di dua nominasi lainnya, yakni best editing yang dimenangkan Olivia Rodrigo, dan Song of the Summer yang dimenangkan Jung Kook ft. Latto.
VMA 2023 dipandu oleh Nicki Minaj yang juga tampil dan memenangkan kategori hip-hop terbaik untuk Super Freaky Girl.
Lil Wayne membuka pertunjukan, dilanjutkan penampil lainnya antara lain Olivia Rodrigo, Cardi B dan Megan Thee Stallion.
Shakira juga menampilkan medley hits saat dia mendapatkan penghargaan video vanguard, berterima kasih kepada keluarga dan penggemarnya dalam pidato yang beralih antara bahasa Inggris dan bahasa Spanyol aslinya.
Dia berkata, “Saya ingin berbagi penghargaan ini dengan penggemar saya yang selalu, selalu mendukung saya dalam suka dan duka."
"Terima kasih banyak telah menjadi tentara saya dan membantu saya berperang dalam semua pertempuran saya.”
Sementara itu, Korea juga menikmati kemenangan dengan Blackpink dinobatkan sebagai group of the year, dan Stray Kids memenangkan penghargaan best K-pop untuk lagu S-Class, dan Tomorrow X Together meraih trofi push performance of the year.
