Album ini menjadi penanda comeback solonya setelah 13 tahun sejak DOOM DADA.

Secara makna, Studio54 terinspirasi dari Studio 54 dan menggambarkan gemerlap dunia hiburan yang penuh euforia sekaligus menyimpan sisi kosong dan tekanan di balik popularitas.

T.O.P sendiri, bernama asli Choi Seung-hyun, dikenal sebagai rapper dan mantan anggota BIGBANG yang memiliki gaya artistik khas di musik maupun seni visual.
