TRIBUNNEWS.COM - Rachel Zegler, bintang film West Side Story yang mendapatkan nominasi di Oscar,  menyebut dirinya tidak diundang ke ajang penghargaan tersebut 27 Maret, mendatang.

Dilansir Hollywood Reporter, Minggu (20/3/2022), aktris 20 tahun itu mengungkapkan di media sosialnya bahwa dia hanya akan di rumah saat malam Academy Awards.

Zegler membalas satu di antara komentar netizen di postingannya.

Netizen tersebut penasaran gaun apa yang dikenakan Zegler nanti saat malam Oscar.

Zegler pun secara langsung menjawab dia tidak diundang, sehingga dia akan mengenakan celana santai saja di rumahnya.

"i’m not invited so sweatpants and my boyfriend’s flannel," tulisnya.

Setiap nominator dan presenter ditawari sepasang tiket.

Tiket lainnya didapat dari jatah yang diberikan kepada masing-masing studio.

Namun Academy seringkali mencarikan tiket tambahan untuk VIP yang ingin hadir.

Zegler mengungkapkan dirinya telah berusaha untuk mendapatkan tiket dan menyebut betapa bangganya dia dengan proyek tersebut.

"Entahlah semuanya, saya telah mencoba semuanya tetapi sepertinya tidak berhasil :') Saya akan mendukung West Side Story dari sofa saya dan bangga dengan pekerjaan yang kami lakukan tanpa lelah 3 tahun yang lalu."

Film West Side Story karya Steven Spielberg bersaing untuk mendapatkan penghargaan Film Terbaik, bersaing dengan The Power of the Dog dan CODA.

West Side Story menerima enam nominasi lainnya termasuk sutradara terbaik dan aktris pendukung terbaik untuk Ariana DeBose.

Zegler memang tidak dinominasikan untuk Oscar, tetapi dia memenangkan Golden Globe untuk perannya sebagai María.

Zegler, yang saat ini sedang syuting Snow White karya Mark Webb di London untuk Disney — studio yang sama yang mendistribusikan West Side Story — mengungkapkan dalam komentarnya:

"Saya harap keajaiban di menit-menut terakhir terjadi dan saya dapat merayakan film kami secara langsung, tetapi hei, begitulah kadang-kadang, kurasa."

Merujuk pada banyak komentar yang mengungkapkan keterkejutan netizen, Zegler melanjutkan dengan menulis di utas:

"Terima kasih atas semua kejutan dan kemarahan— saya juga kecewa. tapi tidak apa-apa. sangat bangga dengan film kami."
