Hingga hari kedelapan SEA Games 2019, Indonesia sukses mengumpulkan total 65 emas, 62 preak, dan 79 emas.
Tim Garuda sukses mengumpulkan 17 emas, 16 perak, dan 21 perunggu pada Minggu (8/12/2019).
Medali emas terbanyak disumbangkan dari cabang olahraga (cabor) perahu naga.
Timnas Indonesia perahu naga menyumbangkan empat medali emas.
Namun, posisi Indonesia di peringkat dua klasemen sementara SEA Games 2019, terancam bisa tergeser.
Pasalnya, Vietnam yang posisinya tepat di bawah Indonesia, juga sukses mengantongi total 65 emas hingga Minggu kemarin.
Disisi lain, pencapaian Indonesia saat ini sudah melampaui target perolehan emas, yakni 45 medali.
Ketua Ketua Komite Olahraga Nasional (KONI), Marciano Norman, pada beberapa waktu lalu mengungkapkan, Tim Merah Putih ditargetkan membawa pulang 45 medali emas dari SEA Games 2019 Filipina.
"Minimal, target yang paling mungkin ini adalah sementara 45 medali emas," terang Marciano, dilansir KompasTV.
Mengutip situs resmi SEA Games, Filipina masih bertahan di posisi puncak dengan perolehan total mendekati 300 medali.
Tim Tuan Rumah sukses meraih 113 emas, 86 perak, dan 88 perunggu hingga SEA Games 2019 hari kedelapan.
